# User Guide

Soothing Sound helps you play soothing noise and run tinnitus-matching test tones. The app stores your settings on your device and does not require an account.

# Safety

  • Keep volume at a comfortable level and avoid high volume.
  • Take breaks during prolonged listening.
  • This app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a physician if symptoms persist or worsen.

# Main features

# White Noise Player

Use the White Noise Player to create a steady sound environment for focus, relaxation, or rest.

What you can do:

  • Choose a preset noise profile.
  • Adjust the frequency equalizer (multi-band).
  • Control master volume and per-ear volume (left/right/all).
  • Save your settings as custom presets.
  • Use background playback when needed.

Tips:

  • Start with low volume and increase gradually.
  • If left and right ear settings differ, adjusting the "All" target may overwrite both ears.

# Tinnitus Matching

Tinnitus Matching lets you play a test tone to find a frequency that is close to what you hear.

What you can do:

  • Adjust frequency and volume.
  • Try different tone types (waveforms) to find the closest match.
  • Once you confirm a frequency, you can apply it to generate or tune your white noise settings.

Tips:

  • Try in a quiet environment.
  • Many tinnitus frequencies are commonly in the 2–8 kHz range, but results vary.

# Background playback (iOS)

Soothing Sound supports background audio so playback can continue when you leave the app or lock the screen.

How to stop playback:

  • In the app: pause/stop playback from the controls.
  • From iOS: open Control Center and stop audio from the Now Playing controls.
