Soothing Sound helps you play soothing noise and run tinnitus-matching test tones. The app stores your settings on your device and does not require an account.

Main features
#
White Noise Player
Use the White Noise Player to create a steady sound environment for focus, relaxation, or rest.
What you can do:
- Choose a preset noise profile.
- Adjust the frequency equalizer (multi-band).
- Control master volume and per-ear volume (left/right/all).
- Save your settings as custom presets.
- Use background playback when needed.
Tips:
- Start with low volume and increase gradually.
- If left and right ear settings differ, adjusting the "All" target may overwrite both ears.

Tinnitus Matching
Tinnitus Matching lets you play a test tone to find a frequency that is close to what you hear.
What you can do:
- Adjust frequency and volume.
- Try different tone types (waveforms) to find the closest match.
- Once you confirm a frequency, you can apply it to generate or tune your white noise settings.
Tips:
- Try in a quiet environment.
- Many tinnitus frequencies are commonly in the 2–8 kHz range, but results vary.

Background playback (iOS)
Soothing Sound supports background audio so playback can continue when you leave the app or lock the screen.
How to stop playback:
- In the app: pause/stop playback from the controls.
- From iOS: open Control Center and stop audio from the Now Playing controls.

Data storage and deletion

What is stored on your device
To provide a better experience, the app may store:
- Your audio settings (volumes, equalizer bands, per-ear settings)
- Your tinnitus matching settings (frequency, volume, tone type)
- Theme and language preferences
- Custom presets
These items are stored locally on your device.

How to delete your data
- Uninstall the app to remove local settings and cached files, or
- Use iOS system storage controls (if available) to remove app data.

Troubleshooting
#
No sound
- Make sure your device is not muted and volume is up.
- Try switching presets and adjusting master volume.
- If another audio app is playing, pause it and retry.
#
Background audio stops
- Ensure Low Power Mode is off and you have stable system resources.
- Restart the app and try again.
